- Why we must do 2nd Vulcanization? After silicone compound is cured and formed in molding machines (first-vulcanization), its cross-links become tight, but need to be stronger by 2nd Vulcanization process. After 2nd Vulcanization, the product becomes harder, more durable, more flexible and with better heat stability. At the same time, some harmful residues can be removed.
