The secondary vulcanization of silicone products is also called post-vulcanization, and is commonly used for vulcanization of silicone rubber, fluororubber and fluorosilicone rubber. The role of secondary vulcanization: when silicone rubber is vulcanized with peroxide, the decomposition of the peroxide initiates the reaction of the polymer, and the formation of low molecular compounds (such as benzene and benzoic acid) in the rubber will affect the mechanical properties of the rubber. After the first stage of heat-forming of silicone rubber, the cross-linking density is not enough. It is necessary to further vulcanize the reaction to increase the density of silicone rubber. Pull-up strength, rebound resilience, hardness, swelling degree, density and thermal stability are all more than one-time vulcanization. There is a big improvement. If the secondary vulcanization is not carried out, the performance of the produced silica gel may be affected to some extent, and the product with better performance may not be obtained.
